SoilStead makes heavyweight cotton tees with botanical artwork on them, for people who spend their free time with their hands in the dirt.
Made for dirty hands
The shirts are 100% combed cotton at 250 g/m² — substantial without being stiff, with enough give to actually move in. Cut unisex and oversized, S through 2XL, with a drop shoulder and a boxy body that hangs straight instead of clinging.
Each one is printed after you order it, by a production partner, rather than sitting in a box waiting for a buyer. Nothing gets made that nobody wanted, and no unsold size ends up in a landfill. It also means orders ship from whichever facility is closest to the printer rather than from us.
These are made to be worn while you are elbow-deep in a repot, not folded in a drawer waiting for an occasion. Wrinkles are fine. Potting soil is fine. The shirt gets better either way.
Who is behind it
SoilStead is a small operation run out of Arizona, built in the hours around other work. Every design and every product photo passes through one set of hands.
Printing and shipping are handled by production partners — that is what makes it possible to run this without a warehouse or a minimum order of five hundred shirts. The part that is ours is the part that matters: what gets drawn, and what it was drawn from.
Slow growth is still growth
The first collection is called Rooted in Bloom, and the name is the whole idea. Plants do not hurry, and neither does anything else worth having — a skill, a garden, a business, a version of yourself you actually like.
